Quantization Shop of Horrors
The Histogram window
shows the unique sample distribution of a white Gaussian noise source that was
generated and captured in full duplex loopback mode. Below is a
collection of unique and interesting histogram quantization shapes.
This gallery is part of the Full Duplex DAQ comparison
survey.

Quantization errors can create a wide variety of histogram flaws and
shapes. Most flaws are caused by numeric rounding errors in the DSP
engine. These quantization artifacts are also visible in the frequency
domain and often manifest themselves as harmonic distortion.
